Anthony: CBA talks hit a snag, unlikely deal will be done by Dec. 15

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony doubts the NBA and players association will agree on a new CBA before Thursday's deadline for the union opt-out of the current contract.

"I'm skeptical of something getting done," Anthony told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "We had something so close. We were supposed to have a deal done weeks ago, and for this to happen at the 25th hour is tough."

Anthony, the NBPA's vice president, did suggest a deal could still be done this week.

"Do I think something could happen by the 15th? Yeah, I think something could happen," he said. "But I think this kind of put a dent in conversations."

Anthony didn't indicate what the snag was. It is widely believed that the league and union are close on a new deal.
