Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Could play Sunday

Updating a previous note, coach Luke Walton indicated Saturday that there's a chance Russell (knee) could play Sunday against the Knicks.

Analysis:

The Lakers initially stated that Russell, who has taken part in two full practices in the last three days, had been ruled out for Sunday's tilt, but Walton later backtracked from that statement. An official decision on Russell's status for the game won't be made until Sunday's morning shootaround, and it figures to depend on how the point guard responds to the full practice he logged Saturday. Russell has not played since Nov. 20, missing the last 11 games with a sore left knee.
