DeRozan, Lowry argue over who takes worse shots

Tom Szczerbowski / USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are as tight as any two teammates in the NBA, but their friendship has always come with a healthy bit of ribbing.

After a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in which they combined to score 52 points, the Toronto Raptors backcourt mates good-naturedly chided each other about their respective shot selection.

DeRozan went after Lowry for the ridiculously long threes he's grown fond of taking - and making! - during his scorching recent run of long-range shooting.

"To me it's a bad shot," DeRozan said after the game, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg.

Lowry snapped back with a jab at DeRozan's love affair with the mid-range shot, which has made him something of a pariah for stat-heads.

"Every shot you shoot is a bad shot, analytic-wise," Lowry said.

The sniping continued from there.

For whatever critiques the two may have of each other's games, however, everything they've been doing has worked like gangbusters. The Raptors are currently pouring in points at the second-highest per-possession rate in recorded history. The only team that's been better: This season's Golden State Warriors.
