Kings' Arron Afflalo: Dropped from rotation Wednesday

Afflalo (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Wednesday's 120-89 win over the Mavericks.

Analysis:

The Kings signed Afflalo this summer with the expectation that he'd stabilize the starting shooting guard spot, but he proved to be an ill fit with the top unit over the first 20 games of the season. After Afflalo averaged just 8.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25.8 minutes per game, coach Dave Joerger opted to move him to the bench for the third time this season, and he ended up dropping out of the rotation entirely. Fortunately for Afflalo, Ben McLemore, who entered the top unit, didn't exactly light it up with nine points on 3-of-11 shooting, but the Kings' big win could prompt Joerger to stick with the same lineup configuration for the team's next game Friday versus the Knicks.
