Report: Rockets plan to hold Motiejunas to offer sheet

It appears that Donatas Motiejunas will be a member of the Houston Rockets for the time being.

While the Rockets had the option of pulling their offer to the 7-foot Lithuanian after he failed to show up to his physical, Houston plans to hold Motiejunas to his offer, sources tell ESPN's Jonathan Feigen.

However, if Motiejunas fails to perform a physical on or before Mar. 1, the Rockets' offer sheet will be deemed invalid and Houston will be prohibited from signing or acquiring the 25-year-old for a period of one year, according to CBA expert Larry Coon.

Despite the drama that Motiejunas has caused, Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni is looking forward to having the four-year veteran in his lineup.

"It's always an open door and we can't wait to have him if that works out. He will definitely be a positive," D'Antoni told Feigen.

Motiejunas' absence reportedly stems from $6 million in incentive clauses that the Rockets failed to include after matching the Brooklyn Nets' offer sheet.
