Jazz's Gordon Hayward: Out Thursday against Warriors

Hayward will sit out Thursday against the Warriors with a left ring finger injury.

Analysis:

Hayward, who missed the first six games of the season after fracturing the same finger, apparently aggravated suffered an aggravation in Tuesday's win over the Suns. Fortunately, X-rays conducted on the finger came back negative, according to Jazz radio play-by-play announcer David Locke, so it appears he's merely dealing with soreness or a sprain rather than any sort of structural damage. While Hayward doesn't seem at risk of missing much time, his absence Thursday puts the Jazz in a tough spot, as fellow starters George Hill (toe), Rodney Hood (hamstring) and Derrick Favors (knee) will also be sidelined. Joe Johnson, Joe Ingles and Dante Exum could all be in line for extended playing time on the wing.
