Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson: Pulls down season-high 20 boards

Thompson scored only three points (0-5 FG, 3-4 FT) in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 126-94 win over the Knicks, but pulled down a season-high 20 rebounds to go with two steals, one assist and one block.

Analysis:

The huge night on the glass bumped Thompson's average up to a career-high 10.3 per game on the season, which has helped lessen the blow of his declining production as a scorer. While Thompson will never see many touches while sharing the court with the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, fantasy owners still probably expected a little more than the 6.5 points per game he's averaging, which would be a career-low mark. Thompson's downturn in proficiency at the free-throw line has been one of the biggest factors in the scoring drop, as he's shooting an ugly 45.3 percent at the charity stripe, compared to 61.6 percent in 2015-16.
