Report: Bogut to miss 2 weeks with knee bruise

Jerome Miron / USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut is expected to miss two weeks with a minor bone bruise in his right knee, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Maybe by the time he's ready to return, Dallas will be ready to trade him. The Mavs are reportedly considering dealing the 32-year-old if their playoff hopes evaporate (which, given their 4-16 start, may have already happened), though it's unclear if the injury will hamper his trade value.

Bogut also suffered multiple bone bruises in his other (left) knee during last season's Finals, forcing him to sit out the last two-and-a-half games. He hasn't played more than 70 contests in a season since 2007-08.

In his first year with Dallas, the 7-foot Aussie is averaging 3.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 0.9 blocks in 16 games. As bad as the Mavs have been, they've only been outscored by 2.4 points per 100 possessions with Bogut on the floor, and they've surrendered 16.2 fewer points per 100 when he's out there patrolling the paint.

The team is 0-4 when Bogut sits out.
