Nets' Caris LeVert: Doesn't play Monday in coach's decision

LeVert (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Monday's 118-113 loss to the Wizards.

Analysis:

Though LeVert dressed Monday for the first time all season after a prolonged absence due to a fractured left foot, coach Kenny Atkinson wasn't willing to have the rookie make his NBA debut in a competitive game. It may take a blowout before LeVert gets his first opportunity to get his feet wet, and he'll likely be brought along slowly thereafter, as the Nets prioritize getting his conditioning in order without jeopardizing his long-term health in the process. While LeVert remains an intriguing prospect thanks to his positional versatility, coach Kenny Atkinson said Tuesday that he'll look to use the 22-year-old exclusively on the wing to begin his career before giving him a look at point guard, according to Bryan Fonseca of Nets Daily.
