Mavericks' Andrew Bogut: Expected to miss next three games

Bogut (knee) is expected to miss at least the Mavericks' next three games, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Bogut suffered a hyperextended right knee in Monday's 109-101 loss to the Hornets, exiting in the first quarter after playing just 10 minutes. The big man will undergo a precautionary MRI on Tuesday, but coach Rick Carlisle already relayed to the media that he expects Bogut to miss "probably the next three games for sure." Given that timeline, Bogut would sit out Wednesday against the Kings, Friday against the Pacers and Saturday against the Rockets, before a potential return to the court Monday against the Nuggets. With that in mind, Dwight Powell will likely assume most of the Bogut's minutes, and could make for an attractive short-term pickup after averaging 16.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game over the last two contests.
