76ers' Joel Embiid: Scheduled to sit Tuesday vs. Grizzlies

Embiid will sit out for rest purposes Tuesday against the Grizzlies, Jessica Camerato of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Analysis:

Embiid played 26 minutes in Monday's 106-98 loss to the Nuggets, totaling 16 points (5-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT) to go with a career-high five blocks, four rebounds and one assist. The 76ers had announced prior to the game that by virtue of playing Monday, Embiid would sit out the second half of the back-to-back set Tuesday, and they'll stick to that plan even with his usual replacement in the starting five, Jahlil Okafor, already ruled out with an illness. With the 76ers down their top three centers -- Nerlens Noel (knee) is also sidelined -- Richaun Holmes could be in line to make the start at the position Tuesday and take on the bulk of the minutes. Dario Saric and Ersan Ilyasova could also see some run as undersized centers.
