Well, this is taking accountability to a new level.

An NBA reporter at Spanish media outlet Sportando reported Monday that Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons - who's been sidelined for the past 10 games with a left knee injury - was expected to undergo surgery, and possibly miss the rest of the season.

After the since-deleted story began to circulate, Parsons quickly took to Twitter to shoot the report down.

Shortly after that, Sportando pulled the story, issued an apology, and, most surprisingly, announced that the reporter who'd written it would no longer be working for them.

The reporter with the bad information later confirmed he was leaving Sportando, and insisted he was doing so of his own volition.

Credit the reporter for owning up to his mistake, but quitting his job over it might be taking things a bit far.

In any event, Grizzlies fans should be happy to know that Parsons' rehab, according to more credible sources, is actually progressing as expected.
