Kings' Rudy Gay: Scores 22 in Sunday's loss

Gay scored 22 points (7-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT) while adding nine rebounds, four assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 106-98 loss to the Knicks.

Analysis:

As happens far too often to the Kings, only one player other than Gay and DeMarcus Cousins managed to score in double digits, and that lack of secondary scoring kept the team from completing a comeback from a 14-point deficit at the half. Gay's having his own issues providing consistent offense though, hitting for 20 or more points just three times in the last nine games, while shooting 42.4 percent from the floor and averaging 16.1 points a game over that stretch.
