Rockets' Trevor Ariza: Not practicing Sunday

Ariza (back) won't practice Sunday, but he's said to be showing improvement and is being viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's tilt with the Celtics, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Ariza's back spasms forced him to exit Friday's win over the Nuggets prematurely, but he's feeling better now after taking it easy throughout the weekend. He was only limited to some light shooting Sunday, but if he's able to get in a tougher workout Monday morning without issue, Ariza could be cleared to play. If the Rockets decide to hold him out, Corey Brewer, Sam Dekker and potentially K.J. McDaniels would be in line for expanded roles.
