Carroll will sit out Friday's game against the Lakers in order to rest.
Analysis:
It was announced Thursday that Carroll would be held out of one end of the back-to-back games Toronto is playing Friday and Saturday, and it has now been revealed that he will not play in the first contest. Carroll is line to return to action Saturday against the Hawks, but it will be Norman Powell getting the start at small forward for a night.
