Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Hits game-winning free throws Thursday

Gasol paced the Grizzlies with 25 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five blocks, three assists, two rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes in Thursday's 95-94 win over the Magic.

Analysis:

The Grizzlies had just nine active players for the second time in as many games, and Gasol took it upon himself to shoulder the load for the undermanned squad. In addition to leading the Grizzlies' scoring charge, Gasol hit the go-ahead free throws with 12.2 seconds remaining to cap a 14-point fourth-quarter comeback, and has now gone an impressive 14-of-14 from the line in his last four games. Gasol's improved efficiency of late has allowed him to up his field-goal percentage to a subpar, but more palatable 44.6 percent for the season, and it's come without him sacrificing any of his three-point production. However, the center's declining rebound rate is still an issue, as Thursday marked the seventh time on the campaign that he's finished with three or fewer boards in a game.
