LeBron to don full Cubs uniform before Wade clash

The Chicago Cubs' 2016 World Series win ended the franchise's 108-year championship drought - but that's not all it did.

Chicago native Dwyane Wade made a bet with his buddy LeBron James, from Akron, Ohio, that whichever team - the Cubs or Cleveland Indians - won the World Series, the player from the opposing team's city would wear the full baseball uniform of the other the first time their teams played.

The Cubs' 8-7 win over the Indians in Game 7 decided it all. Wade's payoff comes Friday when the Bulls host the Cavaliers at United Center.

"Hat down to the pants and socks," James told Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

James will be decked out in the full digs prior to the game, but he's going to maintain practicality.

"No, I'm not wearing cleats," James continued. "I got a basketball game to play. No glove. Just the uniform. I will be in uniform."

The fact there's a basketball game to play doesn't mean Wade isn't going to take full advantage of the opportunity to savor the moment.

"I'm going to have my camera crew out there, too," Wade told Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The four-time MVP James just has one wish for everyone:

"Don't make fun of me, guys."

No promises, LeBron.
