Knicks' Carmelo Anthony: Shooting slump continues Wednesday

Anthony finished with 14 points (5-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 35 minutes during the Knicks' 106-104 win against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Analysis:

Since scoring a season-high 35 points (on 14-of-25 from the field) last Friday versus the Hornets, Anthony has gone 16-for-60 (26.7 percent) from the field over the last three games while contributing measly averages of 16.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks in 34.3 minutes. Anthony is slowly but surely giving up the franchise player crown to budding sophomore star Kristaps Porzingis. Unfortunately, following a career-best 4.2 assists per game in 2015-16, the presence of point guards Derrick Rose and Brandon Jennings is likely a contributing factor in Anthony's dimes dropping down to 2.6 per night through 18 contests in 2016-17.
