Lakers' Lou Williams: Workload not impacted by Young's (calf) injury

Williams scored 18 points (4-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-11 FT) and added five rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 96-90 win over the Bulls.

Analysis:

The injury to Nick Young (calf) did not appear to impact Williams much, as he still came off the bench, and played only one minute more than he did on Sunday when Young was healthy. Williams has averaged 8.3 free throw attempts per game over his last three games, a rate that would place him ninth in the league. On the season, he averages 4.5 free throw attempts per game. If he can maintain even just part of that increase, it will add significant value to Williams, who is already valuable. Williams is having arguably the best season of his career, and his shooting efficiency, both from the field and from the free throw line, have been important pieces of his success.
