Atlanta Hawks All-Star forward Paul Millsap will not play Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns due to a left hip injury, the team announced.

Originally listed as questionable for the evening's festivities, the decision to keep the 31-year-old out of the lineup completely was made after he received treatment for his injury during a majority of the morning's shootaround.

A team official told AJC.com's Chris Vivlamore that Millsap isn't expected to miss much time, and could be back as early as Friday against the Detroit Pistons.

He's currently averaging a team-high 16.1 points on 43.8 percent shooting, along with 8.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 32.4 minutes for the 10-8 Hawks.
