Wizards' Marcin Gortat: Ekes out double-double Saturday

Gortat scored 10 points (5-7 FG) while adding 10 rebounds and an assist in 33 minutes during Saturday's 112-100 loss to the Spurs.

Analysis:

It was the bare minimum of production to qualify, but Gortat still recorded his ninth double-double of the season. His scoring is down a bit so far, but his 12.1 boards per game would be a new career high if he can maintain that pace for the rest of the campaign. It's also worth noting that Ian Mahinmi (knee) made his season debut Saturday and should see his role expand as the main backup to Gortat once he gets back to full speed, which would likely result in Gortat seeing a slight downturn in the career-high 34.8 minutes per game he's averaging.
