Lillard posts touching birthday message to coach Terry Stotts

Damian Lillard has known no NBA coach but Terry Stotts, and under Stotts' steady hand, the 26-year-old point guard has blossomed over five seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers - collecting a Rookie of the Year award, two All-Star appearances, and two All-NBA nods along the way.

Lillard plays with a chip on his shoulder, and talks often about his doubters, but Stotts clearly isn't one of them. On the coach's 59th birthday Thursday, Lillard showed his appreciation with a heartfelt Instagram post.
