Wizards' Markieff Morris: Cleared to play Friday vs. Magic

Morris (ankle) will be start at power forward in Friday's game against the Magic, CSN Mid-Atlantic's J. Michael reports.

Analysis:

In the Wizards' last game Monday against the Suns, Morris saw only 26 minutes and showed only minimal effectiveness while battling a sprained right ankle, an injury he had picked up in last Saturday's tilt with the Heat. While the Wizards ended up keeping Morris out of practice Tuesday for rest, it appears the forward is feeling healthier after the time off and isn't expected to face many limitations. Given the success he had defensively against opposing power forward Serge Ibaka in the Wizards' previous matchup with the Magic on Nov. 5, Morris could be asked to take on a sizable workload in the rematch. He finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 38 minutes in that contest.
