Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Probable Wednesday

Davis (kneecap) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Davis departed Tuesday's game against the Hawks in the first quarter with a bruised right kneecap, which he sustained while chasing a loose ball into the stands. Though the Pelicans kept Davis on the bench for the subsequent two quarters, Davis returned to action in the fourth period, finishing with 13 points (6-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three blocks, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes in the 112-94 victory. There's still a chance Davis could be held out on the second night of the back-to-back set, but with X-rays coming back negative on the knee, at this point, it appears the Pelicans aren't worried about his availability for Wednesday. Barring any late-arriving soreness, Davis should be cleared to play prior to game time and will likely be in store for his usual hefty workload.
