Mavericks' Deron Williams: Ruled out vs. Clips

WIlliams (calf) won't play Wednesday against the Clippers, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Williams has missed seven of the last eight games while battling a strained calf, and though he resumed practicing Tuesday, he's still not quite 100 percent healthy. The point guard suggested after Wednesday's morning shootaround that he feels close to a return, so there's a possibility he could be ready to go for Friday's game against the Cavaliers. In addition to Williams, the Mavs will be without Devin Harris (toe) and J.J. Barea (calf) on Wednesday, meaning Seth Curry should continue to pick up significant minutes as the interim starter at point guard.
