Lakers' Jose Calderon: Lights it up from long range in spot start

Calderon started at point guard and finished with 12 points (4-5 FG, 4-5 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 23 minutes in Tuesday's 111-109 win over the Thunder.

Analysis:

With D'Angelo Russell (knee) sidelined, Calderon entered the top unit for the second time all season, and ended up logging more court time than anticipated while he was running hot from downtown. The Lakers have already ruled Russell out for the second half of the back-to-back set Wednesday against the Warriors, and while Calderon figures to benefit from another start, he'll be hard pressed to repeat Tuesday's performance. Unless he gets off to another good start to the first half, Calderon could cede more playing time to Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson.
