Mavericks' Harrison Barnes: Finds shooting form in Monday's loss

Barnes contributed 20 points (9-18 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block across 42 minutes in Monday's 96-91 loss to the Spurs.

Analysis:

With Dirk Nowitzki (Achilles) and Deron Williams (calf) still sidelined, among other key players, Barnes continues to serve as the go-to option for the Mavericks, as his 18 shots Monday paced the team's attack. Barnes had a pair of ugly showings over the weekend, going a combined 8-of-30 from the field in losses to the Grizzlies and Magic, but he's generally been able to get his points in efficient fashion. While his three-point accuracy has taken a dive, Barnes' 46.3 percent mark from the field and 86.2 percent mark from the charity stripe has aided him to a career-high 21.2 points per game, almost double what he averaged last season as a fourth or fifth option for the Warriors.
