Wizards' Ian Mahinmi: Logs four-on-four workout Sunday

Mahinmi (knee) was able to take part in four-on-four drills during Sunday's practice, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Mahinmi is expected to increase his involvement in contact drills during the Wizards' next several practices as he targets a return to game action by the end of the month. Since Mahinmi hasn't played competitively since the preseason, the Wizards figure to restrict his workload initially upon his return, but even when back to full speed, the center won't have an especially large role as the backup to starter Marcin Gortat.
