Spurs' Tony Parker: Sits out for rest Monday

Parker will sit out Monday's game against the Mavericks for rest, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Analysis:

After originally planning to rest Parker for one of the Spurs' back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, he ended up seeing action in both, so for that reason it appears coach Gregg Popovich will give Parker the opportunity for some rest on Monday instead. Patty Mills is the favorite to jump into the starting lineup at point guard in his place, which means he should see extended minutes Monday, while guys like Jonathon Simmons, Kyle Anderson and Dejounte Murray could be relied on for additional minutes off the bench in the backcourt as well.
