Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Offers modest production return from injury

Russell (knee) finished with eight points (3-11 FG, 2-9 3Pt), seven assists, three rebounds and two steals across 23 minutes in Sunday's 118-110 loss to the Bulls.

Analysis:

Though Russell was cleared to enter the starting lineup after a one-game absence due to a sore left knee, he looked a little tentative during his time on the floor, which may have prompted coach Luke Walton to limit his minutes. According to ESPN.com's Baxter Holmes, Russell noted after the game that the pain in his knee hasn't completely subsided, which could limit his effectiveness to some degree over the next couple games. Even so, since Russell made it through Sunday's game without any setbacks, it looks like he's safe to deploy in weekly lineups.
