Lakers' Russell returns after missing 1 game to knee injury

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell returned to the lineup to face the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night, after missing Friday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs with a sore left knee.

The sophomore is averaging a team-high 16.8 points to go along with 4.7 assists, 1.2 steals, a 39-percent mark from 3-point range, and a 17.7 PER through 12 games.

The Lakers, though, have actually been considerably better with him on the bench, thanks in large part to the torrid play of his primary backups, Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams.
