Kings' Ty Lawson: Stuffs stat sheet in Friday's loss

Lawson posted 18 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds and one steal across 36 minutes in Friday's 121-115 loss to the Clippers.

Analysis:

Somewhat surprisingly, coach Dave Joerger has stuck with Lawson as his starting point guard in every game even though Darren Collison returned from suspension back on Nov. 8, but the decision paid dividends Friday. The scoring and rebounding totals either matched or surpassed Lawson's previous season highs, and the 29-year-old actually ended up seeing more court time than Collison. While it's an encouraging showing for Lawson and makes him worth tracking in leagues where he's available, we'll need to see him come close to replicating this performance after he averaged a middling 3.5 points, 1.8 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 20.3 minutes per game in the prior four games that Collison had played.
