Spurs' Kawhi Leonard: Turns in 23-12-7 stat line in win

Leonard contributed 23 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 12 rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 39 minutes in Friday's 116-107 win over the Lakers.

Analysis:

Leonard has been immune thus far to coach Gregg Popovich's proclivity to routinely rest his cornerstone players, as the star small forward hasn't missed a game yet and has been seeing a massive workload of late, averaging 36.7 minutes in his last six contests. While Leonard's field-goal percentage has taken a hit during that stretch, he's still filling it up across the board, averaging 23.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.8 treys, 2.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game in those contests. Popovich may be able to build some in-game rest for Leonard during the Spurs' next contest Monday against the Mavericks, a team that's limped to a 2-9 start and could be down several key players to injury in that matchup.
