Hornets' Spencer Hawes: Dropped from rotation Friday

Hawes (coach's decision) didn't play in Friday's 100-96 win over the Hawks.

Analysis:

After Hawes picked up only six- and four-minute stints off the bench in two of the Hornets' preceding three games, the writing had already been on the wall for him to fall out of coach Steve Clifford's rotation, and it finally happened Friday. So long as frontcourt starters Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller and top backups Frank Kaminsky and Roy Hibbert all remain healthy and avoid foul trouble, Hawes isn't likely to see the court in most competitive contests.
