Lakers' Jose Calderon: Will start Friday

Calderon will start Friday against the Spurs, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

Analysis:

Calderon will fill in for D'Angelo Russell on Friday night, who was ruled out a few hours before tip due to knee soreness. The veteran Calderon has only played in five games this season, averaging eight minutes a contest, but could now find himself taking on a much bigger role should Russell miss an extended period of time. Jordan Clarkson, Lou Williams, and Marcelo Huertas could all see increased minutes off the bench Friday night as result of the injury.
