Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell will not play in Friday night's contest versus the San Antonio Spurs due to a sore left knee, according to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News.

The 20-year-old has been impressive in his sophomore season, averaging 16.8 points, 4.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 steals on 42.3 percent shooting.

Lou Williams will likely see the bulk of minutes at point guard in Russell's absence.

The Lakers (7-5) will look to extend their hot start to the season against a Spurs team that's yet to lose on the road in 2016-17.
