Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Expects to play Friday

Davis (quad) said he expects to play in Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Davis remains officially listed as questionable for the contest, but based on his comments, it sounds like he's actually closer to probable and will presumably suit up if he makes it through warmups unscathed. Terrence Jones had a big game while starting in place of Davis in Wednesday's loss to the Magic, but he'll presumably move back to the bench Friday to accommodate the superstar's return to the lineup.
