Pistons' Andre Drummond: To try to play Wednesday

Coach Stan Van Gundy said that Drummond (ankle) will "give it a go" Wednesday against the Knicks, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.

Analysis:

A sprained ankle kept Drummond out of Monday's win over the Thunder, but the injury was never considered overly serious, and he's now poised to make his return Wednesday. It sounds as though the big man may not be 100 percent, however, so it's possible he could see a restricted workload, making him somewhat of a risky play in daily contests. For what it's worth, Drummond is still referring to himself as a "game-time decision," according to Aaron McCann of MLive.com, so a firm declaration on his status won't become available until closer to tip time. Regardless, Drummond tentatively looks in line to start at center, which would result in Aron Baynes sliding back into a more reduced role off the bench.
