Bulls' Rajon Rondo: Will sit out Tuesday

Rondo (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup with the Trail Blazers, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Analysis:

It's unclear when Rondo picked up the sprained left ankle, but the Bulls had initially deemed the point guard probable before downgrading him to questionable, and then ultimately ruling him out Tuesday as he failed to show much improvement heading into tip off. Jerian Grant is set to move into the starting lineup in his place and could see extended minutes, while Isaiah Canaan also figures to see an increased role off the bench. Rondo's next opportunity to take the court will come Thursday against the Jazz.
