Toronto Raptors forward DeMarre Carroll will be active for Tuesday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but is not expected to play.

Carroll, who admitted during the preseason he's still not 100 percent recovered from last season's knee surgery, also sat out Saturday's game against the New York Knicks.

The Raptors are on the first leg of a brutal back-to-back set against both of last year's NBA finalists, and Carroll was expected to miss at least one of those games. The Raptors apparently prefer to preserve him for Wednesday's tilt with the Golden State Warriors.

It's been a bumpy start to the season for the 30-year-old, who's averaging 7.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 35.8 percent from the field and 29 percent from deep. This, after Carroll lost 56 games to recurring injuries in his first season north of the border.

For the second straight game, Norman Powell will start in his place.
