Cavaliers' Richard Jefferson: To start Tuesday in place of J.R. Smith

Jefferson will get the start at shooting guard Tuesday against the Raptors, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

J.R. Smith will miss a second straight game with a sore right ankle, so the Cavs will go with Jefferson on the top unit rather than Mike Dunleavy, who started at the position in Sunday's win over the Hornets. Jefferson was just 1-of-5 from the floor in 26 minutes Sunday, and he's struggled on the whole this season, averaging 4.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 23.5 percent (4-of-17) from beyond the arc. Though Jefferson work with the starters Tuesday, expect the minutes at shooting guard to be divvied up liberally among him, Dunleavy and Iman Shumpert.
