Mavericks' Deron Williams: Out Monday, but Wednesday return possible
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle indicated that there remains a possibility Williams (calf) could return Wednesday against the Celtics, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis:
The Mavericks have already ruled Williams out for Monday's game against the Knicks after he recently suffered a setback in his recovery from a left calf strain, but the team is seemingly still taking a day-to-day approach with the point guard's recovery. Given the lack of reliability Williams has shown on the health front the last several seasons, it's probably unwise to count on him returning this week, which should make both J.J. Barea and Seth Curry viable lineup options in deeper leagues.
