Wizards' Marcin Gortat: Delivers 18-14 double-double in loss to Bulls

Gortat accrued 18 points (9-12 FG), 14 rebounds, two assists and one block across 35 minutes in Saturday's 106-95 loss to the Bulls.

Analysis:

With the Wizards holding out both John Wall (rest) and Bradley Beal (rest) for the second half of the back-to-back set, there were more shots to go around for the team's complementary scorers, and Gortat and Markieff Morris (24 points) were able to take full advantage. The 12 shots and 18 points were both season highs for Gortat, who supplemented his value to daily owners by collecting 10 or more rebounds for the eighth time in nine games. He's currently holding down an average of a career-high 12.4 rebounds per game, fueled in part by coach Scott Brooks' decision to hand him a huge workload (34.4 minutes per game).
