Rockets' Eric Gordon: Will come off bench Monday

Gordon will come off the bench in Monday's game against the Wizards, Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Gordon has fit in well with the Rockets, ranking second on the team in scoring with 16.2 points per game, but he'll be dropped to the bench Monday as coach Mike D'Antoni looks to field a better defensive lineup. The longer, rangier Corey Brewer will enter the starting five in Gordon's stead and will be tasked with slowing down Wizards point guard John Wall. It's likely that most of Brewer's duties will come at the beginning of the halves, so Gordon still figures to see the larger portion of the timeshare between the two on the wing. Look for Gordon to reenter the starting five in the Rockets' following game Wednesday against the Spurs.
