Mavericks' Harrison Barnes: Pours in career-high 34 in Sunday's OT win

Barnes scored a career-high 34 points (13-26 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT) while adding eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 48 minutes during Sunday's 86-75 overtime win over the Bucks.

Analysis:

With Dirk Nowitzki (Achilles) sidelined, Barnes started at power forward and stepped up as the Mavs' primary scoring option, putting together his second game of the season with at least 30 points, something he managed to do only once in four seasons with the Warriors. It's early yet, but so far Barnes has risen to the challenge of the max contract he signed in the offseason, although his breakout hasn't helped the Mavs too much in the win column. He's averaging 20.8 points (on 49% shooting) and 6.5 rebounds in 38.5 minutes per contest.
