These aren't last year's Los Angeles Lakers. Gone is the season-long Kobe Bryant farewell parade, and in its place is mostly the same group of youngsters - but playing entertaining basketball under new coach Luke Walton.

"Run through a wall for him," is how veteran guard Lou Williams described the team's attitude under the 36-year-old coach, according to Lakers.com's Mike Trudell.

Williams spoke after Sunday's 119-108 win over the Phoenix Suns that put the Lakers at 4-3 on the season and 3-0 at home. It's the first time the team has been over .500 since December 2013.

Through seven games, L.A. is getting the right mix of production from youngsters like Julius Randle and D'Angelo Russell, as well as oft-maligned veteran chuckers like Williams and Nick Young. Walton, who oversaw the Golden State Warriors to an uncredited 39-4 record last season in Steve Kerr's absence, has them playing fun, energetic basketball.

"(The team is) more mature than I think a lot of people would guess or give them credit for," Walton told reporters after Sunday's win. "I don't have any expectations. I came into this job with an open mind ... they haven't shown me anything to say that they're immature, other than the age of a lot of them."
