Warriors' David West: Little used in Friday's loss

West scored four points (2-4 FG) along with one rebound and one assist over six minutes in Friday's loss to the Lakers.

Analysis:

West, who averaged 18 minutes per game with San Antonio in 2015-16, has finished with single-digit minutes in four of the season's first six games, averaging just 8.3 per game. While head coach Steve Kerr may normally preserve a 36-year-old on the second game of a back-to-back set, that's not what happened Friday as West played a mere six minutes the previous night. The trend has started; West appears to be destined to play a reduced role on a team that allots a limited amount of minutes to its big men. The Warriors often play small with Draymond Green and Kevin Durant serving as the center/power forward combination, so West doesn't figure to be of much fantasy use unless Zaza Pachulia comes down with a significant injury.
