Spurs' Tony Parker: Out for a week

Parker (knee) will be "out a week or so," according to head coach Gregg Popovich, Tom Orsborn of San Antonio Express reports.

Analysis:

Parker has been battling a sore right knee since injuring it against Golden State in the season opener, which will lead him to miss Friday's game against the Jazz and more. The point guard also sat out during the Spurs' home opener against New Orleans and has been averaging just 5.5 points and 4.0 per game. Although the injury doesn't seem serious, Popovich wants to give Parker some time to heal up. Expect Patty Mills to start at point guard in Parker's absence.
