Nuggets' Jameer Nelson: Has big night off bench in win

Nelson supplied 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 34 minutes in Thursday's 102-99 win over the Timberwolves.

Analysis:

The Nuggets' starting backcourt of Emmanuel Mudiay and Jamal Murray combined to produce 12 points on 4-for-26 shooting from the floor and 0-for-8 shooting from three-point range, but Nelson came to the rescue with the most productive night among the team's guards. Though Nelson is naturally a point guard, the absences of Gary Harris (groin) and Will Barton (ankle) limited the team's depth at shooting guard, so the veteran saw some more time off the ball. If both injured players miss further action, Nelson would likely continue to hold down a prominent role on the second unit.
