Nets' Jeremy Lin: Leaves game with strained hamstring

Lin suffered a strained left hamstring in Wednesday's game against the Pistons and won't return.

Analysis:

Lin, who tallied 10 points and four assists in 16 minutes before departing, has arguably been the Nets' top player so far in the young season, so his injury could prove costly if he's forced to miss any time. The Nets' point-guard depth was already thin with Greivis Vasquez (ankle) and Randy Foye (hamstring) sidelined, leaving struggling second-round pick Isaiah Whitehead as the top option at the position. We'll likely hear further word on the extent of Lin's injury after the game, but for now, he'll be listed as day-to-day heading into Friday's matchup with his former team, the Hornets.
